A national model for the implementation of a set of Australian Guidelines for EAD is currently being developed. Issues under investigation include:

· ownership and maintenance of Australian Guidelines

· input to the international development of EAD

· models for a national resource discovery architecture (centralised vs decentralised storage of data)

· linking EAD to the broader information infrastructure, both in Australia, and internationally.
